For over 20 years, he taught enrichment programs and second grade in the Roxbury School District and at a private Catholic School in Sayreville, NJ, where he earned numerous “Teacher of the Year” awards for both his classroom work and extra-curricular clubs and shows he helped to create and run.

Scott passed away unexpectedly at the age of 47 in August 2012, leaving behind a loving family and a large body of plays. In 2012, his brother Marc published four volumes.

We will celebrate the life of this extraordinary man with a staged reading working with professional actors at RoxPac in Roxbury on Saturday April 26. Two pieces written for children and their families will be performed at  4 pm, with four additional pieces recommended for older audiences at 5:30. In between the two readings there will be a reception with light refreshments.

Reblogged this on Dania Ramos and commented:
It was a true honor to direct staged readings of MEET THE GLASS FAMILY and THE SNOWMAN, two plays written by the late Scott Huguenin. I never had the chance to met Mr. Hugenin, but after reading his words and meeting many of his family, friends, and former students and yesterday, I now know he was a talented playwright, a generous teacher, and much-loved man. The event was a beautiful tribute headed by John Pietrowski and hosted by Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey and RoxPAC.
